“Rainbow Falls! Rainbow Falls!” was all I could hear especially on this hot humid day. Excitedly I screamed as we pulled into the Rainbow Falls Parking lot. I was so excited like super duper excited. First I got our food and ran straight down to the picnic table. All I could think of was the nice cold refreshing water. Then the rest of the family came too.

When we got to the swimming area I put my togs on and jumped right into the water. I started doing bombs until….Something had a hold of me, pulling me down. Help!. I was almost drowning so I tried kicking it but I kept on missing so I tried to scream as loud as I could but every time I would scream it would pull me straight down. It was a horror scene. I was a cat scared to have a bath ( that's why cats don't like baths because they can drown)

Finally, it let me go. My big huge giant cousin pranked me.  She cackled so hard. I was so so so so furious whispered under my breath “You just wait, I'll get you back"

Minutes later my mum told my cousin Paula and I to get changed or get a towel. Then I realized that it was a perfect time to get revenge on my cousin. So I slithered near my cousin's bag and borrowed her bag and kindly hid it in the forest. After I got my towel Paula was still looking for her bag. (She was lost, Out of her mind looking everywhere, Even in the water why though?). Minutes later we left Until I remembered that I hid Paula's bag. Finally we went home. I will never forget that day when I finally got my cousin back for pranking me.

Have you ever been to Kohewhata Marae????

Last Thursday we went to Kohewhata marae for a noho.

After our noho we needed to write a recount about our experience

at the Marae Noho

WALT:Organise and follow the structure of a recount

Our Marae Noho
“This is so COLD”  Someone said behind me as we were walking barefoot through
a cold puddle to the entry of Kohewhata marae.
Last Thursday the senior classes of Tautoro school and the Teachers,
Parents and Principal all went to Kohewhata marae for a marae noho.
The library was getting full of big bulky bags while the students were
unpaetionly running around.
“The bus is here!” Miss Simeon yelled out to everyone.

Minutes later the buses arrive. The first bus was fuller than cans of sardines .
So the bus driver said “go on the other bus, this bus is too packed”
So Jahnel and I went into the second bus. While we were waiting for our arrival Jahnel
and I started playing hand games like slime yuk yuk, apple on a stick and
Lisa the warrior.

Finally, the bus arrived at the marae. We had to get the bags and then a group
of boys would collect them from us and put them in a neat pile.
Then we had to take our shoes off because it was flooded.
“Girls in front, boys behind” Whaea Mary said to us.

“Why is it so cold” Ngaro said as we all were walking through ice cold cold water.
“Haere mai,Haere mai,Haere mai ra” said Whaea Mary as she welcomed us into the
marae. “Woah, look at these carvings” I said in my head as the carvings kept getting
better and better as we went into the marae.

“Activities” I said so excitedly. My favourite activity was making koauau.
The koauau was the best activity ever.
“I am so so so so hungry” I said in my head. I lined up and then
Miss Simeon plated us some food.Taste test time.
We had so cottage pie, cabbage mix and plum pie.
The cottage pie was delicious and the cabbage mix was delicious as well.
In conclusion I can’t wait for next year and I hope the food is going to be as
great as last thrusday.
